Just got some inside info from Sony on TII DVD sales numbers:

-So far, as of March 19th, This Is It has sold 3.6 million units in the US (inlcuding Blu-Ray), and has grossed over 60 million dollars in the US alone. This makes it the best selling music DVD of ALL TIME in the country.

-In Foreign countries, TII has sold an additional staggering 5.5 million units, grossing an additional 90 million dollars.

-This means total global sales of the TII DVD currently stand at 9.1 million.

-This Is It the DVD has grossed an unbelievable $150 million dollars globally since its release.

-I am told Sony expects this release to end the year with sales of 12-13 million, and sales of over $200 million which would make it BY FAR the highest selling music DVD ever by over double the nearest competitor

Michael Jackson's GLOBAL SALES THIS WEEK: (April 9th 2010)

-TII just remains the global Top 40, at #38. The album sold 32,000 copies this week, the same as last week.

-TII has sold over 5 million copies since its release internationally according to Sony. According to Media Traffic, the number is 3.9 million because they do not count all markets.

-TII has spent 23 weeks in the Global Top 40 chart. Not bad for a movie soundtrack!

-Jackson sold 125,000 albums across the world this week, down from 128,000 the week before.

-MJ has sold 2,350,000 albums so far in 2010 around the world.


This Is It has made $260 million in theaters, $190 million in DVD sales, and $50 million in revenue for the CD soundtrack. That means so far the THIS IS IT project has grossed over $600 million. - det svarer til ca. 3 milliarder danske kroner !!

CD'en This Is It er igen denne uge nummer 31 på Album Top 40 listen. Den har nu været på listen i 23 uger i træk.

This Is It DVD'en har endnu ikke solgt 7.500 eksemplarer i DK. Det fatter jeg ikke. Ved ikke om det tal kun er en version af de tre der er udgivet på DVD, men går ud fra at Blu-Ray salg ikke er inkluderet.

As promised here are the total numbers internationally, last updated July 31st 2010. Numbers will include Jackson 5 sales but will be separated accordingly so readers can easily see MJ's solo sales plus Jackson 5 sales. Also, I will break it down with album sales, download/single sales, plus I will include ALL DVD/VHS and other forms of musical release. Remember, these are the actual recorded sales numbers by both Sony and Universal and are not inflated in anyway. There are some sales from certain countries that are very hard to track, even by Sony. Ydermere vil al den hype der kommer på MJ de næste par måneder gøre at MJ's andre albummer, DVD'er m.m. også vil sælge godt og derfor vil deres salgstal og evt. chartplaceringer også blive postet.

Så det er et meget dumt tidspunkt at fjerne denne tråd!!!

Det er klart der ikke er blevet postet her lang tid da MJ ikke har haft nogle albums på hitlisterne og salgstal ikke ahr været så interessante, men hvorfor pokker fjerne tråden lige inden MJ utvivlsomt kommer tilbage og dominere hitliser og salgstal for Vision og Michael bliver spændende at følge.

Der er absolut ingen grund til nogensinde at unpinne denne tråd og da slet ikke nu inden MJ's comeback til hitlisterne!
